 Stress Busters

  •   Some techniques recommended by experts are to think positive thoughts and to be optimistic. Believe that the universe is a result of great intelligence and so are all the events in it. Spend at least 30 minutes a day doing something you really enjoy (i.e.,Soak in a hot tub; walk on the beach or in a park; read a good book; visit a friend; play with your dog; listen to soothing music) Learn more ways to reduce stress.

Protect Yourself from Pollution

  •  If you can't live in a smog-free environment, at least avoid smoke-filled rooms, high traffic areas, breathing in highway fumes and exercising near busy thoroughfares. Exercise outside when the smog rating is low. Exercise indoors in air conditioning when air quality is good. Thought for the day: 'Smoke gets in your eyes'…and your mouth, and your nose and your lungs as do pollutants….hum the tune daily. Learn more about how to make your life less polluted.

Heat Stroke
  •  Heat stroke is a true medical emergency. About two in every five heat stroke patients die from this condition. The heat stroke patient may have a high fever, exhibit bizarre behavior, be combative and have hallucinations. The patient may also lapse into a coma and develop seizures. Heat stroke sufferers require immediate medical attention. Call an ambulance. . To aid someone with signs of heat stroke call an ambulance, apply a wet towel on the victim's face and fan their face until emergency crews arrive.
Ultraviolet Light

  •  Lifelong exposure to ultraviolet light promotes development of cataracts. If you live in the south or southwest, where the sun is at it's brightest and most intense, you have a greater risk of getting cataracts. You can protect yourself by wearing ultraviolet-protective sunglasses and a hat with a brim.

    However a recent study has proven that shielding yourself from the sun too much is also bad for you. Therefore try to be in the sunshine in moderation .

Skin Cancer


  •  Excessive sun exposure can lead to the development of skin cancer. Early detection and treatment reduces the risk of the cancer spreading and becoming a fatal condition. To protect yourself, buy a sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 15 or more. Wear a wide-rimmed hat to protect your face and light clothing to protect your body. Use clothing that covers as much skin as possible, especially if your are fair skinned.

  •  If you are going overseas, make sure you purchase a medical insurance plan or check to see what additional expenses are covered through your employer's medical plan. Health care costs abroad, especially in the United States, can be extremely expensive and even a minor injury can quickly end your vacation if you have to pay the bill
EAT LOTS OF SWET POTATOES 

  •   It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and  fish... All before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners..
